MPI Approved Accredited Person Training Course – Sea Freight

eLearning, fully online, full course, allow 5 hours

This MPI Accredited Person sea freight online training course is designed for individuals responsible for devanning imported sea containers to help manage biosecurity risks associated with goods entering New Zealand. This is s full course and must be completed as part of the MPI accreditation process.

The course will take approximately 5 hours to complete and covers all topics that you need to gain your MPI AP accreditation status.

At the end of this training, you will be able to:
– explain MPI’s role and responsibility in biosecurity
– identify and describe certain unwanted pests and diseases
– understand the role and responsibilities of an Accredited Person
– inspect a container
– outline the required actions when pests or contamination are found

The course and assessment must be completed within two days of starting.

On successful completion, a certificate will be emailed to you for your business records, and MPI will be notified of your accreditation status.

Please note that a good understanding of English and a basic ability to write in English are required to be able to meet the MPI assessment requirements.

MPI Approved Accredited Person Refresher Training Course – Sea Freight

eLearning, fully online, allow 2 hours
$108+GST

This MPI Accredited Person refresher training is designed for individuals responsible for devanning imported sea containers to help manage biosecurity risks associated with goods entering New Zealand.

This course must be completed by an AP within two years of completing the full course to retain their accreditation status.

This course will take approximately 2 hours to complete. It includes relevant devanning scenario you may come across when managing biosecurity risks followed by an assessment.

At the end of this training, you will be able to:
– explain MPI’s role and responsibility in biosecurity
– identify and describe certain unwanted pests and diseases
– understand the role and responsibilities of an Accredited Person
– inspect a container
– outline the required actions when pests or contamination are found

The course and assessment must be completed the same day.

On successful completion, a certificate will be emailed to you for your business records, and MPI will notified of your renewed accreditation status.

Please note that a good understanding of English and a basic ability to write in English are required to meet the MPI assessment requirements.

If you work in a Transitional Facility and help Accredited Persons unpack imported containers that have come into New Zealand by sea or air, this online course is for you. You will gain a general awareness of biosecurity in New Zealand and the risks associated with unwanted pests and diseases arriving on our shores.
