This MPI-approved eLearning course is designed for individuals responsible for devanning imported sea containers at a Transitional Facility. It provides the essential knowledge and skills to manage biosecurity risks and meet MPI accreditation requirements.

This is the full course that must be completed as part of the Accredited Person (AP) application process. After completing the course and passing the online assessment, you will receive a training certificate and need to apply to MPI to to become an accredited person.

Course entry requirements:

MPI requires all APs to have:

  • A basic understanding of both written and spoken English
  • A basic level of computer literacy
  • Phone and internet access to report container inspections
  • Be a New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or legally entitled to work in NZ with a current valid working visa

To complete this eLearning course, learners also need:

  • A good level of English comprehension
  • Access to a PC or Laptop
  • A unique email address (that belongs to you only) that we can send course access details

When you have completed the course and passed the online assessment you will:

  • Be awarded a certificate that verifies that you have completed the required training to be an Accredited Person
  • You will need to provide this certificate as part of your application to MPI to be an Accredited Person

  • Assessment: 45-minute MPI online assessment at the end of the course
